We've been on our travels again zig-zagging the country and preaching the gospel according to St. Pete.
Recent highlights included a fantastic night at The Bear Hotel in Marlborough where we met some very friendly Who fans. The venue was packed to the rafters and a most enjoyable evening was had by all! A big thanks to Paul and Julianne Mancini (of top Glam band The Glambusters) for dropping everything at short notice to do our sound at The Bear. We have another date at the venue later this year, see the gig guide for details.
Last Saturday saw us back at the Moses Gate music venue in Bolton. It has to be said that there aren't many places like this left and the world is a sadder place for it! Ray, Mags and their staff really looked after us and the audience was one of the best that we have ever had. We will be back at Moses Gate in the autumn.
This weekend we travel to London for a show at The Grey Horse in Kingston. For tickets and information log onto www.grey-horse.co.uk or call 0208 541 4328
CHARITY SHOW A ROARING SUCCESS
Posted By whosnext on 14/04/08
Who's Next joined Glam Rock supremos The Glambusters for an evening's entertainment and fund raising for the Dorothy House Cancer Care Hospice. The event took place at Bath Football Club last Friday. The evening was a roaring success and organiser John Mancini was very pleased with the turn-out. Both bands will repeat the exercise at Frome Football Club later this year. See gig guide for details.
Tony Butterfield
Posted By whosnext on 05/04/08
Tony passed away peacefully on Thursday morning. Tony had been the band's greatest supporter and was never more proud than when he watched Alex play the drums. Tony also sponsored the band, providing and maintaining the van. We will miss him very much. Our thoughts are with Alex and his family at this time.

Who's Next have played some real blinders lately. We had a fine time in Scunthorpe at The Hangar. Charlie and his staff looked after us really well as usual. Thanks for the hospitality... and the tea! Then it was on to Grimsby for a mad night at Bailey's Live! The Grimsby crowd were fantastic as always. Our promoter Ian Jones pulled out all the stops. We have decided that when we go back to Grimsby/Cleethorpes that we may be looking for a new venue to accommodate our growing following. Easter Sunday's show at The Brewery Tap in Abingdon was postponed due to reasons of a personal nature. The new date for this show will be announced shortly.
Last weekend saw the band pack-out The Old Tavern in Bristol. Landlord Paul and promoter Simon had worked hard to advertise this show and we were greeted by an enthusiastic and highly vocal crowd. We hope to announce another date at The Old Tavern later this year. On Saturday we played at one of our favourite venues, Cox's Yard in Stratford-Upon-Avon. This is simply one of the best venues in the UK. The management under Director, Simon Vetch is second to none. The crowd were superb and we will be back at Cox's Yard in November. A big thank you to the band who shared the bill with us, Vital Signs who we first encountered at a gig in Daventry last year. Plans are a-foot to play together at The Mill in Banbury. Oxon. this Autumn.
Tonight the band return to The Famous Old Ale House in Salisbury. This is a great little gig and we are looking forward to seeing friends old and new there. Tomorrow night (Friday, 4th April) sees Who's Next travelling to The Queen's Hall, Minehead, where we share the bill with the nation's top Mod, New Wave, Ska, 60's Beat and Northern Soul DJ, the legendary Emma Cox!!!! Tickets for this event are selling well. If you wish to attend, please make sure to reserve your tickets at the box office on: 01643 703044

Who's Next - The Reckless Engineer, Temple Gate . 8.3.08
Posted By Richard Barker (Bristol Bands Live! Web Review) on 09/03/08
Nothing could dampen the spirits of the crowd that poured off the damp and dismal streets of Bristol last night; not the weather or the cricket or the rugby. The audience at the Reckless Engineer were treated to a two hour tirade of "Who" classics. Who's Next have added several new (for them) songs to their set including a new opener, the Entwistle penned paradigm; "Heaven & Hell", an incomparable version of "Water" this song showcased vocalist Paul's tallents to the max! The encore was a short "Tommy" set, the highlight being a tight and very exciting rendition "Amazing Journey/Sparks" which left the audience spell-bound.
Who's Next's next Bristol date is an Friday, 28th March at The Old Tavern on Blackberry Hill, Stapleton, Bristol,

A very Happy New Year to everyone! From Who's Next
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Posted By whosnext on 24/12/07
What a great end to our year. 2007 has been a year of mixed fortunes for the band but most importantly it was great to see full houses at The Crown in Frome and also at The Hotel Califonia in Liverpool!
As always Jason, Tom and their staff gave us the red carpet treatment. We had a great time at The Crown and have already booked dates for next year which will appear on the gig guide shortly.
The Hotel California was a fantastic gig! We were raided by the police right in the middle of our Quadrophenia set but the crowd stayed put and once the law had left the building rocked out with us until the wee hours. We got back to Frome at 8am having driven through some of the worst fog I have ever encountered.
Some thank yous...
A big thanks to our new singer Paul who joined us in May he has injected new life into the band and has fitted in really well. Further thanks go to our tech and no.1 sound man Chad without whom we would be lost. We would also like to thank all of the venues, promoters and agents who continue to support us. We would like to thank Pete, Roger, John and Keith for their contribution. But most of all thanks to everyone who has been to a Who's Next show this year.
We are going to take a short break for the holidays and will be back with a new set at the end of January. Merry Christmas and lets rock out together again in 2008!
Be Lucky, Who's Next

WEYMOUTH GIG CANCELLED
Posted By whosnext on 10/12/07
Friday's show at Finn's, Weymouth is cancelled. The business changed owners last weekend and the new owner Ann George does not want to honour the booking as she cannot afford to cover our fee. The previous owner Steve Perry has "... washed his hands of the sittuation". So we will be giving his Southampton venue "The Firehouse" a miss. Sorry for any inconvenience. If you have any comments please address them to Steve Perry on his personal mobile number: 07879 643071.
If anyone knows of a professionally run music venue in the Weymouth area that would like to stage a show please contact me via this site.

FIREWORKS AT THE FLEECE
Posted By whosnext on 05/11/07
Firstly a BIG thanks to the lovely Mel and her staff for looking after us so well at The Fleece in Bristol last Saturday. The band played a two hour show of material sourced mainly from the Who's Next album that was warmly received by a fantasticly enthusiastic and highly vocal audience! As the fireworks popped and fizzed outside Who's Next gave their audience a fire-cracker of a night inside the venue. The Fleece is a great venue and we hope to be back before too long.
Bristol fans only have another week to wait until the band are back at The Reckless Engineer. See gig guide for details.

Fantastic Frome
Posted By whosnext on 01/10/07
Who's Next had two fantastic nights in Frome, Somerset on Thursday and Friday last week. Thursday saw the band return to The Crown Hotel to perform their 250th show to a full house and on Friday they were joined by The Glambusters to play at Frome Football Club to a 450 sell out crowd in aid of the RUH (Royal United Hospital, Bath) Breast Cancer Unit and the Somerset based Dorothy House Cancer Care Hospice. The evening was a resounding sucess and we will receive the final totals of funds raised by the organisers shortly.
Who's Next are taking a couple of weeks off live work to add a few new songs to their set and will return on 19th October at The Parson's Nose, Melksham.

250th landmark show for Who's Next
Posted By Craig on 27/09/07
Who's Next play their 250th landmark show at The Crown Hotel, Frome tonight. It is also The Crown's first anniversary. I think there will be some revallry on the streets of Frome tonight!
It's been nearly four years. We've been through a few singers and we've had our ups and our downs. I'm happy to say that there have been more ups than downs and that I've never enjoyed playing with Who's Next as much as I do right now. The current line-up is on fire! We (Alex, Jamie and I) have a great new front man. Paul has already knotched up over 40 gigs with the band since he joined us in May. It remains for me only to thank the other "Rogers" who have served with the band, Tony, Moon and Jamie who all played their part in our band's history. See you at a gig soon! Be Lucky, Craig.
